Munster Technological University Hosts Successful "Food for Thought" Event
07 June, 2024
On Tuesday, March 19th, Munster Technological University (MTU) Biological Sciences hosted the highly successful “Food for Thought” Event. The event which is in its second year provided an invaluable platform for students and professionals in the food, beverage, dietetics, and sustainability sectors to connect and explore the diverse career opportunities available upon graduation.
MTU Extended Campus was delighted to support the “Food for Thought” Event once again this year. The event kicked off with a Networking Coffee Morning sponsored by MTU Extended Campus. This offered the Enterprise Partners an exclusive opportunity to explore additional ways to collaborate with MTU across our Three Pillars: Graduate Formation, Workforce Development and Research & Innovation
Engaging Students with Career Opportunities
For students, the “Food for Thought” Event is more than just networking; it is an opportunity into their future careers. The event provides a unique platform for them to meet potential employers and recent graduates, learn about different career paths, and gain insights into the various sectors within the food and nutrition industry. Whether they are interested in food production, research, public health, or sustainability, students had the chance to engage with industry leaders and discover the opportunities that await them after graduation.
Collaboration and Partnership
The event emphasised the importance of forging new partnerships between academia and enterprise. By connecting businesses with students and staff, MTU aims to create a dynamic ecosystem where innovative ideas and collaborative projects are developed. These partnerships are vital for advancing research, enhancing educational programs, and ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the industry.
