What is the “Connect with MTU” Networking Breakfast all about?

The “Connect with MTU” Networking Breakfast offers our enterprise partners the opportunity to connect directly with academic, research and project units from across the university to foster existing interactions and to explore new opportunities.

This event serves as a platform for individuals to expand their professional network, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations. The event saw circa 200 guests visit on the morning and there were 37 different departments and units of the university represented and ready to connect as well as  4 external community partners; COPE (Ability@Work Programme), IASIO (Irish Association of Social Inclusion Opportunities), INTREO Cork and the Local Enterprise Office Cork.

A variety of tours and information sessions gave guests an opportunity to delve a little deeper into, for example, specific laboratory facilities or the pathways enabled through the recognition of prior learning process in MTU. As an unexpected and delightful addition, guests were treated to a performance by students of musical theatre, facilitated by colleagues from the School of Music.

Breakfast & Networking: A Catalyst for Success

We are delighted with the positive feedback that we have received via email and in person. We hope the event has been a step for many towards creating strong and lasting relationships. We are thankful for each attendee and their industry knowledge that helped create such rich conversations and meaningful connections. Our appreciation also goes out to the MTU staff who participated and shared their expertise, as well as to everyone involved in the organization process, regardless of their role.

Recent Feedback:
“I wish to thank you for the invitation extended to us to attend this event. We learned so much and connected with many of the MTU team and we hope that this will be mutually beneficial going forward.
We plan and look forward to building on this connection with a view to filling future graduate and interim intern roles. We were delighted with the visit and tour of the labs”
“Sincere thanks for all your efforts in organising one of the best Industry engagement events we have had on campus in recent years (since the one you organised last year). You are so good at this. We are so grateful and understand so well the long hours and stress involved in pulling off such a quality event”

Thank you to all in Attendance

Organising large scale events like this take a considerable amount of effort, yet consistently proves to be immensely rewarding. We are thankful for each attendee and their industry knowledge that helped create such rich conversations and meaningful connections. We are thankful to all MTU Staff who attended on the day and offered their expertise. We are also thankful to all who helped in the organisation process; but especially to the HCI Funded Project “Realising the Potential of  RPL and Lifelong Learning in  Higher Education “who sponsored the event.
We hope to organise many events in the future but if you missed this one and would like to get more information on how you can benefit from connecting with MTU please contact us at extended.campusCork@mtu.ie for any queries.
