'Connect With MTU' Networking Breakfast
22 May, 2023
On 19th May we hosted our first ‘Connect with MTU’ Networking Breakfast at the Bishopstown campus. It was organised to give businesses and community organisations the opportunity to network with MTU Departments and Units, community support agencies and other agencies and to highlight the crucial role that MTU Extended Campus plays in facilitating connections between the University and external organisations in both the business and community sectors.
There was great interest in the event with over 60 regional, indigenous and international organisations in attendance and engaging with MTU representatives at almost 30 stands. As part of the event over 15 SMEs attended a focused workshop ‘Understanding Industry Clusters’, which was delivered by Dr John Hobbs, Director of the V-LINC Cluster Research Group at MTU. Several of the SMEs who were in attendance are part of the SME Cluster Growth Project. This is an ERASMUS+ Knowledge Alliance project aiming to empower SMEs in the engineering sector to grow and compete.
We are extremely grateful to MTU Heads of Faculties/Schools/ Departments and other MTU Units and colleagues and staff who supported the event and look forward to hosting it again on 10th May 2024 in the Nexus, Bishopstown campus.
