Student Inc. in Top 5 European Entrepreneurship Programmes

07 June, 2022

Student Inc., Ireland’s longest-running student accelerator programme, has been shortlisted in the top 5 European Entrepreneurship Programmes for the 2022 European Triple E Awards.

Student Inc. is a full-time immersive programme running annually from June to August at MTU’s Bishopstown Campus, allowing student entrepreneurs to test the feasibility of their business ideas in a safe and nurturing environment.

The programme provides seed funding and access to a network of entrepreneurs, trainers, mentors and investors across the South-West region, helping students turn their business ideas into a reality. From humble beginnings in 2011, in what was then CIT, the programme has expanded to include University College Cork, Atlantic Technological University, University of Limerick and Technological University of the Shannon.

Carole O’ Leary, MTU Regional Programme Manager for Student Inc., was thrilled to see the programme gaining international recognition and thanked the many partners and contributors who have made Student Inc a success.

Carole said, “Regardless of the final result, we are delighted that Student Inc. has made it to the top 5 Entrepreneurship Programmes in Europe. The pandemic forced us to become entrepreneurial in our delivery which enabled us to move the single campus location to a 15 campus location programme across our five partners. The programme has the potential to become a national programme with the correct campus incubator supports”.

Student Inc. 2022 is already underway, with 20 student entrepreneurs from 18 different university courses bringing their business dreams to life. We wish them every success in their endeavours, as we do Student Inc. on June 28th, at The Triple E Awards 2022 in Florence, Italy - Forza MTU!
