March is Innovation and Enterprise Month at MTU!

02 March, 2021

MTU’s inaugural Innovation and Enterprise Month 2021 kicked off on 1st March with a jam-packed schedule of engaging talks, lectures, seminars, and competitions.

Innovation and Enterprise month offers industry and community organisations a fantastic opportunity to engage with MTU and we here at Extended Campus are delighted to highlight some of the impressive collaborations taking place during the event!

Cork-based ESI Indutrade is very generously supporting and sponsoring the THINK! Design process competition which is open to MTU students from all disciplines - with a €3000 prize fund for the best new business ideas/concepts covering each stage of the design thinking process. Find out more here.

The TRUST: Human Rights & Sports Photo/ Video Competition is being run by the UNESCO Chair (MTU Kerry) & TRUST Project as part of the “Sport as it Should Be” awareness campaign. Entrants are asked to submit images that capture the idea of human rights, in and through sport, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals to forge partnerships and collective actions to leave no one behind. Submissions will remain open until 19th March and more information is available here

MTU’s Innovation and Enterprise Office presents the Inspiring Innovation Masterclass, a series of workshops over four weeks featuring innovators who have brought their business dream to life. The series begins with Will Martin, CEO of LiveDuel and Founder of SportsTech Live. Find out more here

The first week of Innovation month ends on a high note with the Innovation Day Award Ceremony sponsored by Cork City and County Local Enterprise Offices - sponsors of this event for over 20 years and a fantastic representation of the long-lasting partnerships forged between CIT, now MTU, and local organisations.

This event will be one of the months biggest, with over €10,000 offered in prizes. Entrants whose inventions and business ideas are judged most innovative and likely to succeed in the marketplace will be chosen on the day. You can attend the awards ceremony by registering here.
