A win for CIT’s Collaboration Efforts at The Education Awards!

The annual Education Awards gala ceremony 2020 took place on Thursday, February 20th at the Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin. This black-tie event brings together leading members of the education community to recognise, encourage and celebrate excellence in the third level education sector in Ireland from both State and privately funded institutions. The judging panels are made up of national and international judges awarding some of Ireland’s most respected educational institutions.

The award categories highlight the key areas that impact student performance and provide opportunities for educational institutions, their employees and contributors to have their achievements recognised across the various facets of their operations. This year Cork Institute of Technology went home with not one, but TWO awards!

The Department of Marketing & International Business won a prestigious Education Award for their collaboration with a range of business using their live case assessment. This award truly recognises the authentic assessment CIT encourages and which is made possible by collaborations and engagement with our business and industry partners. In the last 12 months, this department has had many notable collaboration partners including Gym+Coffee, Wisetek, Musgrave, Motorsport Ireland and Dell Technologies.

CIT also won the Student Engagement & Communications Award. This relates to CIT’s Academic Success Coaching programme of AnSEO in The Student Engagement Office. The award gave particular recognition to the dedication and skill of the Academic Success Coaches in their work directly with students. This work includes class visits, profiling, early intervention, one to one coaching and group coaching. The award also recognises the team effort in establishing, growing and building the programme in recent years. CIT is the first institute in Ireland to offer such provision.

Their winning application can be viewed on their website. AnSEO has previously won this award in 2017, 2018 and was shortlisted in 2019.

Well done to all involved!
