Our Heads Matter Our Heads Matter: An Event by Da Silly Heads in Collaboration with Guest Speakers

25 February, 2020

‘Our Heads Matter’, a mental wellbeing seminar organised by Da Silly Heads, took place on the 18th February 2020 in The Rory Gallagher Theatre in CIT.

Da Silly Heads is a new project, specialising in the design and delivery of high impact, engaging and quirky wellbeing events. Da Silly Heads brand is centred around empowering mental health advocacy, encouraging discussion and creating inclusive environments.

The project began in 2018 when two CIT mature students, Daniel O’Mahony and Michal Sikora wanted to share their personal experience with mental health.

Both founders, currently in their fourth year Business Degree (Hons) at CIT, have completed the Student Inc. Programme at The Rubicon Centre, developing the foundations for Da Silly Heads to become a social enterprise in the summer of 2020.

The project was inspired by the creation of 5 cartoon characters, each depicting a mental illness relevant to their journey. The characters serve to tell a personal story and empower people. They are displayed at events and on apparel noticeable from their colour, quirkiness and creativity.
