Last month CIT hosted the inaugural School of Business Work Placement Lunch, celebrating the many employers that have provided placement positions to School of Business students this year. The event had a great turnout, enabling coordinators and lecturers to connect with employers for future collaborations.

CIT's School of Business offers placement to all of their students allowing them to gain practical experience in their discipline. With 500 students participating across nine different programmes, CIT works with more than 300 companies to secure placement for students, which can run from a three to nine month period.
With more employers requiring experience as well as academic success, work placement is a highly valued component of the student experience. CIT considers it to be a key element in their professional development, facilitating students to refine their skills in a real-world context.
Work placement gives students the opportunity to gain an insight in to the working world they will be entering and the opportunity to put all that academic theory in to practice. CIT graduates are in high demand so the Work Placement module gives employers the opportunity to obtain a skilled student for the duration of the placement and also establishes new recruitment possibilities.
