27 October, 2018

Cork Institute of Technology’s Faculty of Engineering and Science has honoured CIT alumna Mary Good in recognition of her professional achievements.

The Vice President of Global Manufacturing at PepsiCo Global Concentrate Solutions (PGCS) was presented with the Faculty’s STEM Graduate Achievement Award at a ceremony at CIT’s Bishopstown Campus on October 25.

The Graduate Achievement Award recognises graduates whose work in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) has made a significant contribution in a professional or societal context.

As an analytical chemistry graduate, Mary Good began her career with PepsiCo as a Quality Analyst. Since that time, she’s held a variety of roles both in Ireland and abroad including Quality Director for PepsiCo Europe Sub-Sahara Africa Business Unit and as Manufacturing Senior Director for Western Europe Beverages.

In 2010 Ms Good returned to Eastgate in Cork to take up the role of Technical Services Vice President at PepsiCo Global Concentrate Solutions, becoming Vice President of Global Manufacturing in 2014.

Ms Good is also Executive Sponsor for the Diversity & Inclusion in PGCS, focussing on developing female talent. She chairs the Women’s Inclusion Network and promotes the importance of STEM subjects for post primary students.

Michael Loftus, Head of Faculty of Engineering & Science at CIT hailed Ms Good as a talented and active STEM leader. “Her actions and achievements are an inspiration to the next generation of STEM professionals. She became the first female member of the PGCS leadership team and in doing so paved the way for many others to follow”, Mr Loftus said.
