CIT International Business & Marketing Students Partner with TII on Live Case

16 October, 2018

CIT Year 2 International Business & Marketing students are partnering with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), Cork County Council and Sisk Engineering to come up with ideas for reducing traffic volumes during the Dunkettle Interchange Project.

The project, which begins in April 2019, will run for 3-4 years and will have a major impact on commuters of the N25, M8, and the wider Cork Metropolitan Area.

The student brief is twofold: To create a marketing campaign to promote the TII website and app, which will relay live information and real-time alerts to commuters; and to come up with novel ideas on how to reduce traffic volume during the project.

The students will work on the live case in groups, culminating in a showcase event in late November with students presenting their work to representatives from TII, Cork City Council and Sisk Engineering. There will be awards for the best idea and for the best pitch, with one student being offered a work placement with the TII to implement the winning campaign.

Jim McCarthy from TII said, “We are excited to be working with CIT students and look forward to hearing their contributions in November.”
