CIT Careers & Employability Fair 2018

27 September, 2018

The CIT Careers & Employability Fair 2018 took place on September 27 at the Bishoptown Campus. It was the largest fair to date, with over 100 companies participating. The annual Fair gives students an opportunity to network and connect with prospective employers and learn about the graduate and placement opportunities on offer.

Treasa Morgan, CIT Careers Officer, said the fair was a great success. “We received some great feedback from companies about the level of interest and enthusiasm shown by students. The growth and success of the fair each year highlights the work that CIT does with external companies,” Ms Morgan said.

Many graduates returned to CIT in their professional capacity. Adam O’Rahilly, a graduate of NMCI and now an Area Manager in Aldi, was promoting the company’s industrial placement and Graduate Programmes.

Craig O’Driscoll graduated in electrical engineering at CIT in May and began a two-year Graduate Program with Arup. He particularly enjoyed speaking to students, saying, “last year I was at the Arup stand asking questions about the very programme I’m on now!”Craig O'Driscoll and Sharon Lehane

Eva O’Regan, a statistician with the Central Statistics Office, began her career on the CSO Graduate Placement programme. Eva originally studied electrical engineering at CIT but changed track, completing the HDip in Data Analytics through the Springboard+ initiative, which landed her the position in the CSO.

Sharon Lehane, CIT Extended Campus Business and Humanities Representative, reconnected with representatives from Kerry Group, where she began her career, on their graduate programme. “Seeing students and companies connecting in such a dynamic way is encouraging and vital in shaping their futures,” she said.
