Professor Irene Sheridan was the Guest Speaker at the IDA/DELL Education Ireland Summit

On August 24th Dell in association with IDA held an Education Summit Ireland at their Cherrywood site. This key client-led event in partnership with third level Institutions explored whether we as educators and employers are prepared to embrace the future graduate. Leaders in education and enterprise explored the challenges of academic-industry collaboration and the nature of the workplace of the future.

 

In her keynote address Professor Irene Sheridan (Cork Institute of Technology) explored some of the truths and myths in relation to skills gaps, shortages and mismatches as well as addressing employee churn, gender pay gaps and diversity. She outlined the current policy environment and some basic building blocks of good collaboration initiatives to support graduate formation and maintain employability in a challenging and changing environment.
