The Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Management Systems (CAMMS) at CIT has been very busy at the start of the new academic year. As well as commencing its new intakes for courses in Lean Sigma, Project Management, Automation and Control; the BEng (Hons) programmes in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Process Plant Technology have also recommenced.

Highlight of the semester so far has been the two Lean Sigma Graduation Ceremonies in Dublin and Cork to recognise last year’s excellent class achievements. The first of the year’s intakes in both Yellow and Green belt have commenced as well as both the Cork and Dublin based Black belts. The Project Management Techniques evening course also kicked off on September 21st as well as the Level 8 Special Purpose Award in Project Management. 28 students have commenced the preparation course for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers’ Certified Manufacturing Engineer exam to be held at CIT in May and all of our automation and control classes are full. These include two intakes into each of Mechatronics, SCADA and Robotics. Congratulations to all who graduated at the Lean Sigma Graduation ceremonies held in both Dublin and Cork. Over 100 students completed the Lean Sigma courses in Yellow, Green and Black belt with CAMMS at CIT. The courses were led by CAMMS Lean Sigma expert Mark Stockil. Congratulations to all involved for another successful year of this programme.
