Conor Hyde of Bullseye Marketing speaks to International Business Master Students

On the 30th of March the MSc in International Business students were attending a talk by Conor Hyde of Bullseye Marketing. The business focus on aiding companies export their products to foreign markets.
Conor spoke of the 'top tips' he would recommend to businesses to follow when they are pursuing the export road. He informed the students that you must always be aware of what is acceptable or not acceptable in the country you wish to sell your product in. He gave the list of the following as guidelines to ask yourself:
- Is it affordable?
- Do you understand the target market?
- Will the USP be the same?
- Distribution channel?
- Will you have the resources?
- Do you have enough finance?
- Will you get paid?
- Is the good exportable?
- Is there a demand for the product abroad?
Conor highlighted the importance of seeking professional advice when translating slogans/branding in foreign countries as some sayings do not mean the same in English.
Overall it was a very insightful seminar and one which the students will find beneficial in their future careers.
